The Maroon is a bold, mature take on an era fraught with both prejudice and adventure. The fact that “maroons” (seminoles – half black, half native americans) have a prominent character in comics is one of the many things that makes this unique and engaging. The visuals are often striking and not for the weak-kneed, but there is a heart to this as well. Highly recommended.
