"Cancer Thumb," though published first, is the second of the Solar System Stories, set around, about, and on top of our own planet, Earth. The stories of the other planets seemed to be more open in terms of viable subject matter, but for the home planet of humanity, it seemed appropriate to focus on what made us, and will make us, keep us, or prevent us from being, human. Of course, there're also naive Democrats, skeezy Republicans, supersoldiers, spaceships, and Russian Cyborgs Who Run Amok!
The Solar System Stories are a collection of 8 short science-fiction comic stories, with one for each planet, including Pluto, and combining Mercury and Venus. Though they seem - and remain - unrelated, similar interests spark the key conflicts of each story. Hand-drawn sharpie art by none other than Etoile Justus, of Arabizu fame!
