Trapped between dreams and reality, teetering at the edge of an abyss. Plagued by fatigue and a desire for blissful slumber—yet unable to fall asleep. A chronic insomniac wanders through the canvas of New York, his thoughts spiraling into despair. Making entries in his diary his one tenuous link to sanity. He struggles to compose himself. But how is he supposed to cope when the line between reality and illusion keeps blurring beyond recognition? Elsewhere, a woman suffering from acute insomnia experiences similar symptoms, haunted by troubling hallucinations. The two insomniacs cross paths at a train platform in Tarrytown, exchanging glances. Deeply affected, the woman reflects on her own life, shedding some light as to why she has been unable to sleep—the man’s tale helping her come to terms with her own trauma. The encounter ends in tragedy, leaving only one survivor. Their lost souls forever linked.
